LGBTQ Resource Center
The LGBTQ Resource
Center (Faunce House, Room 321, 322, and 323) has a wide array of queer-related
books, movies, literature, resources, etc. If you are interested in volunteering
to staff the office a few hours a week, please contact Kelly
Garrett, the LGBTQ Resource Center Director for more information.
Brown University Resources of Interest for Queer Students
- Brown
University Transgender, Bisexual, Gay and Lesbian Alumni/ae : The purpose
of Brown TBGALA is to connect and re-connect transgender, bisexual, lesbian
and gay alumni/ae to Brown University, especially those who may have felt
estranged in part due to issues of sexuality and / or gender identity /
expression.
- Health
Services : Health Services is Brown's oncampus health facility and
is very aware and friendly towards queer health concerns.
- Office
of the Chaplains and Religious Life : The Office of the Chaplains and
Religious Life sponsors a number of interfaith initiatives and works to
ensure that all beliefs can find a home on campus.
- Office
of Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action : The Office
of Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action is responsible for
advising and assisting the University community in the areas of affirmative
action, equal employment opportunity, sexual harrassment awareness and
prevention, and staff employment disability management.
- Office
of Residential Life : ResLife is responsible for student residences,
on and off campus.
- Office
of Student Life : The Office of Student Life hosts a variety of programs
such as LGBTA Student Concerns and Asian American Student Programs.
- Psychological
Services : Brown Psychological Services provides Brown students with
free, confidential, individual appointments.
- Sarah
Doyle Women's Center : The Sarah Doyle Women's Center welcomes women
and men who have interests in issues of gender and in issues that concern
women in particular.
- Third
World Center : The Third World Center is designed to serve the interests
and meet the needs of all Third World students and to promote racial and
ethnic pluralism in the Brown community.
