RUQUS aka. Queer Vegan Potluck Society

Tuesday night, 7:00pm @ in the Sarah Doyle Women's Center Lounge
(On Brown's Campus, on the corner of George and Brown)
You don't HAVE to be queer, you don't HAVE to be vegan, (you don't HAVE to bring food, but it would be nice...), you really don't have to be a woman to be welcome at the SDWC, and the building IS pretty accessible.

One of our largest priorities right now is working on continuing access to gender neutral housing for incoming students (and all students), as well as increasing the availability of gender neutral bathrooms on campus. We are hoping to look at queer organizing, and queer politics...finding ways we are interested in engaging, and as things come up on campus it will be interesting to think about how more broad based issues are also on the agenda for queer folks, both related to and separate from a queer identity/experience of life....

Email Michelle Moon Lee (Michelle_Lee@brown.edu) or Sarah Bowman (Sarah_Bowman_1@brown.edu) with questions.

The dance committee is looking for props for its upcoming SexPowerGod poster photo shoot... that means BDSM toys and wear, old sex toys, religious paraphernalia that you clearly no longer have any practical use for, lingerie, gas masks, athletic wear, skimpy boy-shorts, farm equipment/animals... whatever you feel is appropriate.

In the giving mood? Email dance@queer.brown.edu.

And while we're on the subject.... we already have a bunch of models lined up, but if you're interested in making love to our camera, definitely email us. Two's company, three's a f*cking party.

Trans Day of Remembrance Committee in Need of Head

Some great ideas for Trans Day of Remembrance (Nov 20) have been floating around, but we need someone to organize a planning committee. No experience necessary. Plenty of help and support are available to persons interested in filling this role.

RISD's Straight and Gay Alliance (SAGA) is reviving the Muffin!

The Muffin is a newspaper written by the students to inform the community about gay culture. It's factual and simultaneously quirky. We are currently looking for writers. One story that needs to be covered is an overview of gay rights, gay marriage, and gays in the army/draft. We're also looking for people to submit poetry, comment on their preferences of local bars & clubs, and write a blurb about Brown's QA; meetings, events, locations & times. We are also having a section of non-gay articles written by members of RISD's SAGA and Brown's QA. If you are interest in writing about any of the above suggestions or if you have you have a new idea for an article you'd like to write, please clear it with us first by emailing SAGA@risd.edu.
