RUQUS aka. Queer Vegan Potluck Society

Tuesday night, 7:00pm @ in the Sarah Doyle Women's Center Lounge
(On Brown's Campus, on the corner of George and Brown)
You don't HAVE to be queer, you don't HAVE to be vegan, (you don't HAVE to bring food, but it would be nice...), you really don't have to be a woman to be welcome at the SDWC, and the building IS pretty accessible.

One of our largest priorities right now is working on continuing access to gender neutral housing for incoming students (and all students), as well as increasing the availability of gender neutral bathrooms on campus. We are hoping to look at queer organizing, and queer politics...finding ways we are interested in engaging, and as things come up on campus it will be interesting to think about how more broad based issues are also on the agenda for queer folks, both related to and separate from a queer identity/experience of life....

Email Michelle Moon Lee (Michelle_Lee@brown.edu) or Sarah Bowman (Sarah_Bowman_1@brown.edu) with questions.

Girls' Night Out meeting Tuesday

Girls' Night Out is basically a rad social get-together for queer women. It meets every other week, on Tuesday nights, and each week we will be doing something different. Stop by, even if only for a second, and come talk, laugh, vent, bond, eat, relax, and whatever else you want with other queer women. There will be free food too.

note: trans people and gender queers welcome.
Tuesday, 9 pm, LGBTQ Resource Center (3rd floor of Faunce)

PFLAG (Parents, Families & Friends of Lesbians and Gays) Meeting

Next Tuesday, October 4, is The First Tuesday of The Month. And the month is October -- Coming Out Month.

Parents, Families & Friends of Lesbians and Gays, Greater Providence Chapter, will hold its regular meeting. Here is where parents are helped to understand and accept their glbt children, and those children are helped to understand and come out into loving relationships with their families. We do it by sharing friendship and support. It works.

All are welcome, including adult gays who wish they had harmonious relationships with their families.

We meet at 520 Hope Street in Providence, The Providence Center, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

For more information and directions -- or for on-line support -- visit www.PFLAGProvidence.org. Or call 751-7571.

Dance (Bake Sale?) Committee to Meet Wednesday at 9

Don’t know much about anything? Either way, we want you!

**If you have any interest in being one of the dance coordinators/head party managers, please email dance@queer.brown.edu as soon as possible. No experience necessary—fresh meat welcome! Questions/concerns should also be sent to that address.

WORLD AIDS DAY

The RISD Sex Club and the RISD Christian Body are teaming up this year to plan an event for World AIDS Day. The idea behind World AIDS Day is to raise awareness about the AIDS epidemic all over the world and stress the importance of protecting yourself and your partners from STIs. World AIDS Day is on December 1st but we don't want to half-ass it so we're meeting as soon as possible to come up with ideas. If you are interested in helping out, please contact sexclub@risd.edu with your name, a couple ways to reach you, and when you're available to meet.

If you're looking for more information about World AIDS Day, please visit this link: http://www.worldaidsday.org/
